Many people don’t really go a bundle on red cabbage. But after you have tried this recipe, you are guaranteed to love it!
Take 1 red cabbage and shred (or as much cabbage as you need for the numbers)
Add 1 onion, finely sliced
Mix 1 tablespoon of water, 1 tablespoon of Prenzel Mulled Wine
Simmer slowly until cabbage is soft and succulent (up to 1 hour) –( Make sure you simmer very slowly.)
Wonderful served with game, roasts – actually, with anything!
Poached Pears in Mulled Wine
4 firm pears
Peel the pears, leaving the stalk in place if possible
Place pears into a small saucepan so they can sit upright
Mix 1/3 mulled wine, 2/3 water to cover the pears
Simmer until pears are soft and liquid has reduced (could take up to 1 hour, depending on the firmness of the pears)
Serve with icecream or yoghurt or biscuits – or any decadent accompaniment you might think of!
